Leona Lewis reveals it rained ALL DAY during her Italian wedding with Dennis Jauch

Leona Lewis reveals it rained ALL DAY during her Italian wedding with Dennis Jauch as she admits she finally ‘feels confident in herself’

She tied the knot in Tuscany at Sting and Trudie Styler’s lavish 16th-century vineyard and estate, Il Palagio, on July 27 in front of 180 friends and family members.

Yet despite jetting to Italy for the big day, Leona Lewis has revealed that she didn’t manage to get lucky with the weather, as it rained constantly throughout her nuptials to Dennis Jauch.

Appearing on Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, the 34-year-old singer reflected on her big day as she also revealed that she is feeling far more confident now that she is in her thirties.

Recalling her soggy ceremony, Leona told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: ‘We got married in Italy had all our friends and family there.

‘It was beautiful weather until the actual wedding day, when it poured down!’

Putting a positive spin on the weather problems, she mused: ‘We’re going to have all the luck in the world because it poured from morning to night.

‘It was nice because it brought everyone together.’

The ceremony was originally supposed to take place outside but was moved inside at the last minute when a huge electrical storm took everyone by surprise.

Leona’s husband Dennis, who is a German-born creative director, previously said he saw it as a sign from his father Lutz, who died three weeks before the wedding.

He told Hello magazine: ‘There couldn’t have been more of a sign. Dad made sure we all knew he was there.’

Guests at Leona’s big day included Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan and The Voice winner Jermain Jackman, who also sang at the ceremony.

Former X Factor winner Leona wore a full-length white gown by Israeli designer Mira Zwillinger before changing into a blush pink embellished tulle gown for dinner and a crystal jumpsuit for a reception that continued until 7am and featured a drag queen and tattoo artist.

She mused: ‘In my twenties I would have picked myself apart but now in my thirties I’m confident in myself.’

Discussing her role as a guest judge on X Factor: The Band, she continued: ‘One of the girls on the show sang her own song, kind of about the insecurities she felt and it really affected me.

‘I went up there and hugged her to let her know that its ok, it's important to share that.’

Leona revealed that she’s also far better at dealing with criticism and trolls, recalling an encounter when she overheard two women mocking her appearance.

Leona revealed: ‘They recognised me and said “oh she's not that pretty in real life” and insulted me.

‘As a woman in my thirties I can look at that and think ok it’s sad that she felt she had to do that, I have a lot of love for her because there’s something deep down that she thinks that.’
