Netflix reveals Australia’s most watched movies and TV shows in 2019 including Rebel Wilson’s Isn’t It Romantic and Chris Lilley’s Lunatics

Netflix has revealed Australia’s most watched television shows and movies in 2019.

Topping the list is Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler’s Netflix original comedy movie, Murder Mystery, News.com.au has reported.

The Hollywood A-listers play a married couple who travel overseas to Europe to reinvigorate their marriage but end up on the run after being framed for the death of a billionaire.

Coming in second is 6 Underground, a newly released action-thriller starring Ryan Reynolds, where he is part of a group of vigilantes taking down criminals and terrorists that governments are weary of touching.

While The Witcher was released just ten days ago, the huge amount of hype surrounding it has landed the show in third place.  

The fantasy series stars British hunk Henry Cavill and is based on the popular books and game of the same name.

Completing the Top 10 list were three of Martin Scorsese’s with The Irishman in sixth, Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile in eighth and Triple Frontier in ninth.

Cult following: Animation Rick and Morty season four (pictured) was another popular hit among those Down Under

TV series Stranger Things 3 came in seventh most watched and Dead To Me in tenth.

Other popular shows watched by Australians included The Umbrella Academy, Dirty John Rick, Morty: season four and You: season two, which was released on December 26.

The lists were compiled based on the number of Australian accounts that watched the first two minutes of a TV show or movie in the month following that title's release. 

Titles released in December, such as The Witcher, is based on projected viewing.
